My Meadowland Quilt
Have you made a Meadowland Quilt? It is one of designer Then Came June’s most popular patterns. I thought it was so beautiful so I decided to make one. I almost NEVER attempt to follow a pattern, but I challenged myself to follow the instructions. I was delighted with the results. I dove into my beautiful Paint Brush Studio Solids and a couple of solids leftover from Cotton+Steel. When I was finished I really wanted to custom quilt it, but being pressed for time I just did an uneven grid and then came back and quilted a big black feather vine to undulate across the quilt. I think it gave the quilt a custom look but without all drama and fuss of a custom quilt. It also only took a fraction of my time.
I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and I really like the sketchy quality of the black vine moving across the quilt. The quilt is a bit crinkly in the pictures because I had to wash it. That happens when the boys and their Labradors get to the quilts before I can document them…..but that is the life of a quilt, right?
I HIGHLY recommend this quilt pattern. It was a fun and fast sew. I matched up all my block sets along the long back table of my long arm before just sitting down like a machine and chain piecing them all together. I think I re-watched Downton Abby (for the 3rd time???)
I consider this Quilting style Light Custom….if you have questions, ask them! I am always happy to talk quilting. If you have a quilt you would like me to quilt for you I would LOVE to! Just fill out this form and I will get back with you ASAP.
Cheers!
